Here at Cool Designs Ltd (CDL) we are proud to be a Carbon-Conscious company. We work hard to reduce our carbon footprint and manage our growth.

CDL began this journey in 2012 where we invested in a 3 acre plot of land near Stoke-on-Trent. Formerly grazing land, we have now planted 1,105 trees including a Royal Oak tree to celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee in 2012.

With our very own tree plantation we then went on to sponsor a wind farm in Tansania where we successfully offset our carbon footprint. We regularly transport goods across the country and we done so knowing that we had zero impact upon the environment.

Most pleasing for us was the news that Toshiba Air Conditioning also became carbon neutral; from the Toshiba factory, through CDL and to our client’s site, the transport of goods has zero impact on the carbon footprint of that project. Once the trees are better established we hope to use the land with the local community including schools to promote greater environmental knowledge.

As we have grown over the years, so our commitment to carbon-0ffsetting evolved.   Since 2023, CDL partnered with The Woodland Trust which has over 1,100 woodlands across the UK, and these woodlands are under the ownership of the Trust forever which means that vital habitats for nature, wonderful places to visit for communities, and important carbon banks are protected for the future. The Trust’s estate is a carbon bank of around 9.5 million tonnes and absorbs approximately 170,000 tonnes of Co2e per year as well as providing the wildlife and community benefits.

As Cool Designs calculates it’s carbon footprint each year, we then donate a calculated amount to the Woodland Trust, and this safeguarding of existing carbon banks is as important for climate change as creating new ones.  We mitigate our environmental impacts through the protection of existing UK woodlands which already provide the habitats that new woodlands will do in years to come.
