Ward Hadaway North East Fastest 50 Awards

Cool Designs Ltd, the UK largest distributor of Toshiba Air Conditioning and heat pump systems, has been named as one of the 50 fastest growing companies in the North East of England.

The prestigious Ward Hadaway North East Fastest 50 Awards, in association with The Journal, celebrate growth, innovation, and the commercial achievements of North East businesses.

Based on financial data filed with Companies House, the list ranks the fifty best performing privately-owned companies which have consistently increased turnover over the past three financial years, whilst remaining profitable.  Cool Designs Ltd was ranked 25th overall and 6th medium-sized business after a successful year on high profile projects across the region such as Central Square, Durham but also across the UK such as Landmark Building, Manchester, both where CDL was involved in the early stage design through to supply.

Damien Charlton a Partner at Ward Hadaway’s Newcastle Office, said, “Congratulations to Cool Designs and every company in the Ward Hadaway North East Fastest 50 for 2021 for their tremendous achievements.

“Across a range of sectors we are seeing regional businesses succeeding, through tenacity, determination and a desire to succeed, whatever challenges they are faced with.

“This year’s Fastest 50 list, as always, boasts many management teams with an unwavering passion to succeed who have created high growth, profitable businesses. It’s this spirit, and the business success that it creates, that we are delighted to celebrate.”

Darrel Birkett, Managing Director for Cool Designs continued “It is an honour to be named again in the Fastest 50 and especially amongst such a high calibre group of businesses.  It is a testament to the hard work and commitment of my colleagues and the focus we place on our service level and relationships with our clients and suppliers.  As the focus on Indoor Air Quality increases as well as Heat Pumps becoming the natural replacement for fossil fuels, we look forward to continued success”.
