CDL Titbit – Boiler Plug-In ASHP

This wee rambling has us acknowledge that a `Boiler Plug in ASHP` may now be here – all hail, rejoice and doff the cap to those clever Carrier designer-elves.

We know ASHP now, realistically lie in two camps.

• The LTHW (meeting part L) camp that send gorgeous warm water around the building for general heating, usually between 45 oC and 55 oC (flow) – Underfloor a bit less.
• DHW and Boiler Replacement camp, where designer-types need above 60 oC storage and ideally up to 80 oC flow to replace the Boiler.

Not too long ago, post Covid masks and standing 2m apart in Morrisons, finding a large Commercial ASHP to operate at -5 oC giving +75->80 oC was beyond the technology available.

This sublime piece of engineering loveliness produces up to 395kW when delivering water at 75 oC at an ambient of -5 oC. These can be manifolded up to staggering duties.
It`s `Greener` than St Patricks day having refrigerant R290, Inverter compressors, EC fans, on-board inverter pumps (if required) & controls straight off the Millennium Falcon.

The Max ∆TD is 15oC at the moment, so a little magic-mixing by the clever controls people MAY be needed for 80/60oC Boiler Replacement .
