As part of client decarbonisation scheme, a new warehouse/storage facility would be provided utilising electrically driven ASHP and internal heaters.
Client required set temperature in the space +16oC with ambient air on design at -5oC.

Specific attention was given to ………
- COP, SCOP and project-specific efficiencies (rather than only the set SCOP parameters).
- On board duty and standby inverter driven pumps.
- Co-ordinated quantity and placement of heater blower units, avoiding shelving.
- Destratification (ensuring heat got to the warehouse floor)
- Defrost effect upon duty, guttering to cope with peak quantity (see photo) and defrost electric resistance heaters on frame.
- Noise reduction utilising compressor housings and reduced fan speeds.
- Due to location, coating of outdoor evaporator coil fins for coastal protection.
- Buffer size (generous) giving system secondary-side stability.
- Resilience in the event of one unit being serviced or developing a mechanical issue.
